I’ve recently really gotten into chemical-free skincare, and it’s working for me better than the products I routinely shelled out hundreds of dollars for.
Why should you care? Because beauty and skincare products that you use have a ton of crap in them that’s just not good for you.
When I was asked to review nyl Skincare’s products, I was thrilled! This company is built on chemical-free, organic skincare, along with a lot of passion from their female founder.
Carol Sondesky is the woman behind nyl, and her story is pretty amazing. Carol started making her very own lotion, and after 32 tries she felt it was down pat and started using it herself.
Soon, Carol’s family and friends also started using the lotion she handmade, and nyl was born from there!
I can see why Carol has some big fans of her products because I am too after using them and you’re sure to love them!
Carol generously sent me a ton of her products to try, and here’s what I think of each of them:
Body Balm
This is probably my favorite thing that I got from nyl…although it’s really hard to pick just one!
What I love about this Body Balm is it feels like butter when it goes on, but it has absolutely no greasy residue.
It sinks right into your skin!
It smells pretty delicious too, and it works wonders on dry skin. I’ve been putting it right on my lips since they always need some extra moisture, no matter what time of year.
I also put it on my face since I get really dry spots there too, and it doesn’t irritate such sensitive skin at all. Usually, I break right out with anything new, but it’s not the case with this Body Balm from nyl.
It’s made with luscious ingredients like Organic Shea Butter, Organic Kokum Butter, and Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil.
Rosewater Face Wash
If you’re looking for something to seriously clean your face without stripping it of everything good, this Rosewater Face Wash is it.
It’s literally just rosewater (a gentle astringent), glycerine (helps your skin keep the moisture in), and castile (soap from organic vegetables).
Foaming Castile Hand Soap
Speaking of castile, I bet you don’t consider your hands when you think of skincare. Especially over the summer, but as we’re moving into winter, I’m sure your hands dry out pretty quickly.
The Foaming Castile Hand Soap definitely combats that!
It smells super clean and citrus-y, and it keeps your hands from drying out when you wash them. This is a must-have for the impending cold weather!
Shimmer Scrub
I’m pretty much addicted to body scrubs, and I have never seen a shimmery one, until now!
The Shimmer Scrub from nyl is made of organic sugar and oils, and it has a nice shimmer to it when you put it on your skin.
I used this on my legs before shaving and felt it was a great exfoliator and moisturizer as well. And the nice little glow it leaves behind after you dry yourself off is pretty cool!
Velvet Transformative Serum
The Velvet Transformative Serum is perfect for combating the aging process while keeping your skin nice and moisturized.
Are you seeing a trend? There totally is one, and moisturized skin is the best skin you can be in!
What I like about this serum is that it felt light on my face and absorbed very quickly.
I don’t like putting anything on my face that leaves a residue behind or feels heavy, and you don’t have to worry about that with this!
It also makes your face feel pretty cloud-like, and it will not clog your pores up.
